Accreditation: UAB is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Individual programs and schools are also accredited by regional and national professional associations.

In just the past five years, UAB students have been named Rhodes, Fulbright, Marshall, Truman, Goldwater and Phi Kappa Phi scholars, and two were selected for USA Today’s All-USA College Academic First team, a list of the country’s top 20 students.

An impressive 90 percent of the faculty at UAB hold an academic or professional doctorate.
