Hotel and Dining Information If
you will need overnight accommodations while visiting UAB, the following
are just a few of the places to stay in Birmingham. The Double Tree
Hotel, The Courtyard by Marriott and Medical Center Inn are all adjacent
to UAB, and there are other hotels only a short distance away. Each hotel offers some form of complementary transportation. Since particulars vary and availability can change, we suggest that you confirm that your needs will be met. Birmingham offers a wide variety of wonderful dining experiences. Many of the city's favorite restaurants can be found in the Five Points South area, so named for the five-pointed intersection with the landmark fountain at its center. Five Points South is located near campus at the intersection of 20th Street, South and 11th Avenue, South. In Birmingham, avenues run east and west and streets run north and south. Railroad tracks divide the city into northern and southern halves, and "North" or "South" after an avenue name indicates in which half of the city the address is located. The Hill University Center is located on the 1400 block of University Avenue (8th Avenue, South). Click here for a campus map. For more information about dining near UAB, click here.
